OUR FISHING for Northern Pike, Lake Trout, and Arctic Grayling, as you will discover, is excellent. Not only will you have a very good chance of landing a trophy, but also just as importantly, you will be landing a lot of fish. The reason for this is that there is a large and healthy fish population in Hasbala Lake.
There is one very simple and natural explanation for this - it's called "habitat":
A couple other factors that contribute to the wonderful fishing are the lack of pressure and our fishing policies. There are lodges putting more guests through in a week than we do in a season and our "catch and release barbless hook" policy add up to "good management”.
We will arrange for a replica of your trophy upon your request. We are determined that our fishery will be as good in 20 years as it is now!
Due to the size of Hasbala Lake, our "good fishing" is not an hour's boat ride away! In fact there is wonderful grayling fishing only 500 yards from the lodge.
The good lake trout fishing starts just around the point and it's a five-minute jaunt to the start of great pike fishing!
Also on Hasbala, weather is very seldom a problem; it's size and many islands insure that the weather very seldom "grounds" you.
Wakula, Tanuck, Hooey, and Curphey Lakes are all connected and just a one mile hike from Hasbala Lake... the fishing for Northern Pike is very, very good.
If you are up to a bit of a hike, you better plan on getting over to these lakes during your stay. We will fix you up with a guide, lunch and you are away for the day. You won't be disappointed!!!
Like everything else at Hasbala, Lake is simple and easy. if you are "good" with a boat and want to do a little evening fishing just let us know what you are up to. Or if you want the services of a guide, we will arrange it.
$10 per hour
The charge for using a boat after dinner.
$30 per hour
The charge for a boat and a guide after dinner.
Note: We have found that Len Thompson Lures are excellent for Northern Pike and Lake Trout.
Fishing consistency is one of the most important requirements in making a trip ... A good one. One day of great fishing and six days of poor fishing just does not cut it ... Nor does one big fish and nothing else for the rest of the week.
At Hasbala Lake we just do not have many bad days of fishing and it did not take us long to notice just how important that was to our guests ... Consistent fishing!
